Me at Lummus Park and Public Beach

A bit of info on Miami Beach from Wikipedia.org

Miami Beach

Miami Beach is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The city was incorporated on March 26, 1915.[1]

As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 87,933. As of 2005, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 87,925.

Miami and Popular Culture

South Beach (also known as SoBe, or "The Beach") is one of the more popular areas of Miami Beach. Topless sunbathing is tolerated on certain designated areas of the beach. Before the TV show Miami Vice helped make the area popular, SoBe was rundown, with vacant buildings and a high crime rate. Today, it is considered one of the richest commercial areas on the beach, yet poverty and crime still remain in some places near the area.[2]

Miami Beach, particularly Ocean Drive of what is now the Art Deco District, was also featured prominently in Scarface.

Lincoln Road is a nationally known spot for great outdoor dining, bike riding, and shopping.

According to the Morgan Quitno Awards, Miami Beach is one of the most dangerous small cities (population between 75,000 and 99,999) in the country.

"Free English classes!"

Very cool that such courses are being offered to local non-English speakers.

Taxis galore in Miami Beach

Not sure which is more interesting: the art deco buildings or the giant bus with 7871 painted on its side?!

The art deco view up Ocean Drive.  Very cool.

Trying to be artistic with a bicycle locking bar.  B+ for effort, straight C for execution.  ;-}

Nice attempt at more modern, higher rise art deco architecture

I love this shot for some reason.  Great color and design contrasts.

Not sure which is nicer: the building or the BMW!  Both look quite nice, especially together.

Airplanes with advertising messages trailing behind flew by incessantly all day long.

Um. . . is this related to the wet T-shirt contest banner that flew by moments earlier?

More pecs and abs than you can shake a stick at!

Fortunately we're not expected to take our clothes off in San Francisco (lest we freeze to death) otherwise I'd have to be at the gym 24/7!
